Wednesday

I am in a great mood tonight because I got to talk to the kids earlier, and tomorrow night's presentation at VBS should be a lot of fun. We are still waiting on news about the house, and you all know how I hate waiting. I know I am driving Preston crazy also because I can't be patient and let everyone do their jobs. I'm so anxious that I am grumpy. I just need to get busy around here, and then I will have less time to worry about things not moving fast enough for me. The thing is, I know God will take care of it all, but I just can't seem to let it go. I keep praying that his will be done, but then I keep stressing about it not getting done. At leaset I know that this is a problem, and I can work on it. I'm just ready to move and get settled, I hate not knowing.
Maybe if I vent here, I will be better about not stressing Preston out.

Slow

Being out of school has really messed me up because I can't keep the days straight. All day I thought that it was Wednesday. I think the main reason I keep messing up is because we started VBS on Sunday night and since we were on the third night I keep thinking it is Wednesday. So, at least it is a great excuse. We are doing a great VBS all based on sports. I think that the kids are liking it because they are coming dressed in their baseball/softball uniforms and they get extra tickets. The refreshments area is the concession stand, and we decorated our rooms like locker rooms. And on Thursday night our last night we are having parents night and we have a former Harlem Globe Trotter who is going to perform and share his testimony with us. We are all really looking forward to Thursday night.
We still haven't heard anything about the house, but we are hoping to know something tomorrow. I will keep updating here.

June 25

Well, time has slipped past and I was doing well there for a few days. We are still looking for a place to live. Preston has signed his contract with Copperas Cove highschool, and I have signed my contract with Gatesville highschool. Hopefully we will know something soon about a house we looked at. It is so exciting.
The kids are still in Abilene, and we are missing them so much. I got to talk to Chad the other day, and I get to talk to them on Wednesday again. Breck will be going to camp on Monday so we will be picking her up on Sunday. I can't wait to see both of the kids.
Preston and I are working VBS this week, so we are keeping busy. We started last night and we will go through Thursday night when we have a former glob trotter coming in to speak and perform for the kids. It should be a great experience for everyone that goes.
I am looking forward to moving, but we have a lot of work to do here. We have the house to pack up and all the expenses of moving that I am not looking forward to.
I will write more when I have more information. Until then, have faith that something better is coming.

June 9th

We went to Gatesville yesterday and I met with the high school principal. Things went really well, he told me depending on my references he will be calling me back on Monday to offer me a contract.
Then we went and looked at houses. We liked one of the houses that we looked at, but it is an older home that will need some work. From carpet to paint, nothing impossible but we aren't sure if we want to have to do all of that work. There is one that we are planning on looking at the next time we go up there.
We are excited about our new possibilities.
Tomorrow Kole and Preston leave for basketball camp at Baylor. Pres will be coaching while Kole is participating. Kole is really excited about going. Then on Thursday we will be going to San Antonio to spend a little time with Grahm before the kids go to their Father's on the 15th. I'm not looking forward to them leaving, but it is important for them to have time with him.

We have been outside a lot playing catch with Chad and bumping the volleyball with Kole. We got some whiffle balls and we all like taking turns hitting and pitching.
Time to go and make some lunch.

June 7

Yesterday we helped move Jamie's stuff into Jamie and Pat's house. We stayed late helping to unpack some and organize. I think that I was maybe making Jamie nuts because she was putting stuff away, and I kept asking her where she wanted other things. She said that she will come and help us when we get ready to start moving also, which will be a great help. Chad was awesome helping, we didn't even have to ask him to carry things, he was just going up and getting boxes and carrying them in. He worked really hard and made me very proud of him. Breck was with the youth group playing putt-putt, when she got there finally she washed dishes as Jamie put them away into the cupboards.
Tomorrow we will be going up to Gatesville to try and find a place to live. I don't know how long it will take us, but I am excited about getting to go up there and start getting an idea. I will take pictures so that I can put a few up here maybe we could get some input from others.

June 5

I went to the doctor again today, and again I have a sinus infection because of my allergies. So, this is the start of my summer. I also need to start packing up the stuff in the house. We are going to go on Friday and look for a house, I am also hoping to find a job either in Gatesville, or Copperas Cove. Preston will be going to work the Baylor camp this year, and Breck is going to be going as a camper. She is excited about getting to go to basketball camp. I have a few more pictures to post, one of Breck and one of Chad should do.

June 3

I called to begin finding somewhere for us to live, and have not had any sucess yet. I'm hoping that tomorrow my calls will be more productive. I'm not feeling well, and it is the first week of summer vacation. Breck and I were lazy today and sat around and watched TV, then we watched a movie.

Summer-time

Yeah, school is now over for this year. This year we have a lot to do though. Preston has been offered two jobs and we are trying to decide which would be best for our family. I'm filling out applications in the same area to try and get a job. We will have to find somewhere to live next. We just have a lot to do right now.

As for school though, I told my students that if they achieved 98% or better pass rate on the TAKS test that I would dye my hair blond. Well, we got the restults a few weeks ago, and I had 100% pass the TAKS test. I was extremelly proud of all of my students. Needless to say, I am blond, and it still seems really strange. Graduation was last night, and it was exciting and a bit sad seeing my students from last year walking across the stage and getting their diplomas. It was difficult saying good-bye to my students, but I'm excited to be starting something new.

The kids are doing awesome. Chad played baseball this year, I will try to upload a pic of him. Breck decided that she did not want to play soft-ball this year, she did really well in track this year. She is excited to be going to high school next year. And Chad will be going to junior high, so we no longer have kids in elementary school. It seems very strange to say that. The kids are both growing up so quickly, it just seems the last two years they have grown up so much. It is a difficult adjustment.
