Basketball season begins

Well, today is the begining of basketball season. Preston had basketball practice for the first time with his varsity team. He has been in a good mood it seems all week long. I'm glad to see him in a good mood, but I know that I will not get to see him very much now.
Chad's team lost last week in the first round of football play-offs. He is sad that they lost, but glad that they did so well; especially since it was his first year playing. He knows that next year he will at least have some experience going into the season.
Breck finished volleyball on Monday night with a final win, and she finished cross-country today and she didn't walk any of the course. She has improved a lot from the begining of the season. Now is the begining of basketball season, for all of the gang. I am so ready for a break that I can't wait for Thanksgiving, because I will also get to see my mom and friends from the Mesquite area.
I am totally off of the crutches now, and have changed to my smaller brace. I don't have to wear a brace at all when I am at home, and I am barely walking with any sort of limp. I can't believe how much my knee improves each week. I go back to the orthopedic doctor next week, and I am anxious to hear what he thinks about my improvements. Hopefully I will be released and not have to go back to see him for several months. I will let you know what happens.

follow-up

Chad's team has advanced, and they won their last game. They were scheduled to play their first play-off game on the 21st, but it was rescheduled. It was first scheduled for last night, but because of all the rain, it has been switched to tomorrow night. I will write and let you know how it goes.
Breck's team beat Preston's team last night-- Go Cobra's! She is doing well, and loving every minute of volleyball. I can't believe that she is already in 8th grade. How in the world can she be so big already when the last time I remember I was tucking her in bed and sending her to her first day of school. When grades came out last week, she did make me proud by having straight
A's again. She does do a pretty good job of doing her school work, even what I assign to her.

As for me, I'm just busy working on grading papers, is an ode of a teacher. I feel like just a few days ago I was putting in grades for the end of the first six weeks, and here we go again. I know that most teachers feel the same way, as well as feeling the need to make sure we are challenging all of our students without boring the pants off those who understand what we are doing.
Keep Chad and his team-mates in your prayers as they go forward in their football season, we just hope all the kids stay safe and don't get hurt. May God bless all of you that read this!

Movie worth while

"Facing the Giants" was an awesome movie, and definetly worth taking the family. It has a great christian message that with God all things are possible, and that he uses us in our lives whatever we may do; and he can work through all kinds of people.
I cried in the movie several times because the message was great, even if the actors weren't all of the time.
My husband being a coach, I wish that some of his player's parents would get together and buy him a new truck... I will keep hoping that he will have enough players to have two teams this year.

Saturday 10/07

Today Breck played in a volleyball tournament and although they lost, she got a kill, and she also had some great blocks.

Tonight Chad had a game against their rivals (and the school he attends) and they won! They will be playing in the play-offs and we are really proud of him.

Tomorrow Breck is going with the youth group to watch "Facing the Giants", I am going to go along and take Chad also. I will let everyone know what we think of the movie. I am excited about going to watch the movie. My brother told me great things about the movie, they went and watched it recently and have said it is life changing.

T.G.I.F.

It is Friday again in our crazy caotic life. Today after school I have therapy, then we will come back to Vanderbilt for Friday night football. Then I will get to go back home. At least neither of the kids have practice tonight, Breck is playing in a tournament (volleyball) tomorrow, and Chad has another football game tomorrow night. I will keep you updated of the results.
I hope you all have a blessed day, and you give God thanks for giving it to us.

Wednesday

Our life has become so hectic with both of the kids playing sports, and of course having a coach in the house takes the cake. I will upload Chad's football and baseball pictures, and Breck's softball and volleyball pictures.
Wednesdays are one of the only days when we do not have football practice/games... Breck is singing in the choir though, so she goes to practice before she goes to class. She sang with two of her friends this past Sundy "Sanctuary". She is becoming such a great young lady (most of the time, but she is still a teen-ager).
Chad is talking about being baptized, and we are so proud of him.
My leg is healing, and I'm down to using one crutch... it is sometimes difficult but after 10 weeks, it is much better than two crutches and still having to depend so heavely on others. God has taught me to ask others for help, and not to be so proud.
Other than that life here in the "Golden-crecent" is going smooth.
